Day 11 - Francistown to The Barn Church

We all pretty exhausted after a week that all was given physically, spiritually and emotionally.

Wimpy was a staple during the trip up and down. Here we stopping for breakfast at Wimpy in Palapaye, Botswana at 9am.

Attending to formalities at the Martin's Drift border post South Africa at 10h45.

After a week disconnected from the world, we hit the reality of Joburg traffic at 16h15!

And finally back home at just after 17h00. What a memorable trip where God moved in our hearts and the people we ministered to. Time to reevaluate how we live life!

Our trusty steed ready to bored the ferry.

In high spirits after an awesome week with a great God!

Our turn next after this truck.

A sunrise cruise!

Day 9 - Farm Work: Install Solar pump, Pat's House Foundation

While some went back to Ngwenya Primary School to teach a lesson, the rest of us got down to hard labour. We concentrated on 3 areas:

  • Extending the goat pen as there are now too many goats for the existing pen.
  • Laying down foundations for Patrick's house
  • Installing a new solar powered borehole pump so that the farming operations could be extended.

The Pastors doing the finishing touch to the borehole slab.

The two 290W solar panels being installed on the frame.

And finally water! It was a race for time to have it installed before the sun set to ensure we had some water for the night. It was now late afternoon.

We were treated by the Samba family to a wonderful local meal of nshima, sauce, chicken and cabbage salad. It was really tasty and everyone enjoyed it. The hospitality over our entire time on the farm was truly amazing and humbling. The Samba family are a real blessing and reflect Christ in so many ways.

Another beautiful African sunset.

Our final night before heading back home. We had a special time of devotion, praying for each other and fellowship with everyone we worked with during the past week.

Day 8 - Farm work: Goat Shelter and Pat's house backfill

Time to reflect on the past week that was amazing in so many ways. All Glory to God for His provision and goodness!

Another beautiful sunrise at 6h50 every morning.

The sights around camp in the early morning before the heat of the day comes.

Some of the nature in the long drop enclosure. At least we had company 😓

At one with nature 😊

Will this be the site of the church to be built? We will have to wait and see.

Our strong man Pieter was enjoyed by the children.

Funny to see a popcorn machine on a few street corners.

The local market in Ngwenya Village.

Sweet potato being prepared at the market.

Open air butchery. Anyone keen on a braai?

Buying supplies at the market to delivery to those in need.

Old school tailor.

Cosmetic shop.

Doing the deal.

Off to honour our commitments of provisions to a few locals. We purchased all the supplies from the local market.

We were greeted by Thomas walking towards us after being unable to walk or talk properly for the past 6 years that The Barn has been praying for him. This was an answer to prayer and wonderful to hear Thomas give thanks for God's goodness.

Standing in awe as we hear Thomas testify to God's healing and provision.

Close bonds were formed with many of the locals.

The afternoon was spent preparing foundation trenches for Patrick's house and almost 100m of trenching for the solar borehole pump pipes that were arriving the next day.

Someone has to supervise 😊

Getting ready to have a time of devotion and worship.
